Aggreko on set with Harry
Potter
Aggreko, the world leader in the provision of
temporary power and temperature control solutions, has announced
that it has signed an agreement with Warner Bros Productions for
the supply of power and heating for the next Harry Potter film,
‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’.
The Aggreko team will be providing a 10MW
power package and 8 MW of heating systems which will supply power
and temperature control for the stages and workspace areas at
Warner Bros Leavesden Studio, London, during the filming.
The availability of stable and reliable power
is of critical importance to the studio team and the ‘power
management’ systems designed and installed by Aggreko are supported
during filming by Aggreko’s qualified Engineers. The full suite of
Aggreko’s products are utilised for general power and
heating/cooling requirements and if necessary a bespoke solution is
created to support a very specific and often unique
requirement.
Aggreko has been involved in the provision of
temporary power and temperature control systems on all of the Harry
Potter films, not only on set but also in key location areas which
have been used including Ben Nevis, Virginia Water in Surrey and
Blenheim Palace.
Mick Ledden, Aggreko’s Area General Manager,
has project managed the contracts for all the previous Harry Potter
films and comments on the contract: “Each film we have been
involved in has had very specific requirements and this one will be
no different. The use of special effects is a staple part of the
Harry Potter genre and Aggreko is always forthcoming in providing
an answer to power, cooling, heating or moisture control
challenges. We work very closely with the Production Team and
specialist technicians at the Studio and the results are always a
team effort. We are extremely proud to be associated with these
movies.”
Aggreko will also provide technical support on
the film set throughout the duration of filming.
