Aggreko 5S Certificatation
Aggreko achieves 5S certification as standard of service
Aggreko, the global leader in temporary power and temperature
control solutions, is to achieve 5S Certification across all of its
service centres as part of the company’s continual commitment to
offering outstanding customer service and high-performance
equipment.
The company spent 18 months working towards the standard,
heavily investing in processes that put the customer first. With
the majority of Aggreko’s service centres now meeting the 5S
criteria, the company will have complete its certification of all
16 sites by June 2009 in order to deliver the most responsive
service possible.
5S Certification is a set of techniques for businesses to
optimise the organisation of their workplace. At Aggreko, following
the principles involved ensuring that the service sites were laid
out to enable efficient work flow, correct labelling for equipment
going in and out, a designated red area for quarantined items, and
that health and safety practices were outstanding. As a result of
the measures implemented to achieve 5S Certification, customers
benefit from faster responses to call-outs and improved performance
from equipment - which has been correctly serviced and maintained -
and, ultimately, receive better value for money.
Jeremy Fish, General Manager, Aggreko South West, says: “The
purpose of the 5S Certification was to engage in an initiative that
benefits our customers. The Doncaster service centre was the first
to gain certification and became the benchmark for the national
rollout with the South West service centres of Plymouth and
Nuneaton quickly following on”
